Coming Back to Church – An Update
On Tuesday, May 18 the Leadership Team of the church gathered via Zoom to discuss a plan for coming back to worship and church activities. The Team read several documents and recommendations from a variety of sources including the CDC, the Wisconsin Council of Churches, and the Wisconsin Conference of the UCC. Their desire was to consider, thoughtfully and prayerfully, what are the best next steps for our faith family.
With the recent openings around the state, the Leadership Team felt that it was most prudent to wait until we see how this impacts the number of cases. Therefore, it was decided that we will continue as we have through June. That means that we continue to offer worship via YouTube, regular email updates and devotionals, and mailed hard copies of Enews and worship services to those without access to the internet. Teams and small groups will continue to meet via Zoom for June.
The Leadership Team will discern our next steps at their meeting on June 15.
A plan was approved to proceed with our Spring Annual Meeting digitally in June. Details will be in the Enews.
We all long to be back together and pray that we will be able to do that safely soon. In the meantime, we continue to be there for each other as best we can. As always, the church staff is here for you if you need anything during this time away. We pray that we all stay well.
