Busy, busy, busy!
by Bonnie Ilhardt

What a busy day at the food pantry!  Yesterday, we served 84 customers, including 3 new families!  This is a record for this early in the year and demonstrates the huge need in our communities for food!  THANK YOU for your donations of both plastic and paper bags plus non perishable food items!

Here is the Food Pantry’s current wish list: canned tuna or chicken, Bisquick baking mix/muffin mixes, and bags of Easter Candy. We are also running low on plastic (Sendiks/Woodman’s/Target) AND paper bags. (updated 2/9/23)

Some Stats from the Food Pantry

What a difference a year makes! We knew 2022 was “busy” at the Mayfair Road Food Pantry and a review of the 2022 data compared to 2021 demonstrates this.

– Served 48 more customers in 2022
– Averaged 10 more customers/week
– Served a record 126 customers and 391 family members on our busiest day
– Had more customers making weekly visits

What remained the same in 2022 was 50% of our customers come five or fewer times during the year and close to 80% of those who come to the pantry reside in 7 zip codes that surround the Mayfair Road Food Pantry site (53225). While the food pantry is small in comparison to others in the greater Milwaukee/Waukesha area, it is a welcoming oasis for those who visit weekly and those who visit occasionally. Your involvement through donations of gift cards, food and paper bags is most welcome and vital to the operation of the panty. THANK YOU for supporting this mission! If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact Bill Petterson or me. Your BCC Food Pantry Team
The Pantry is currently collecting: Jelly and Peanut butter; Instant Hot Chocolate; Canned Veggies (no beans); Canned Fruit; Baking Mixes; Pasta Sauce.

You can drop off donations at church weekdays from 9am until 1pm. Thank you for your ongoing support!

P.S.: Yes, we continue to collect brown paper bags to use at the Food Pantry!!!
