We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! BCC is an “Open and Affirming” congregation, where we welcome visitors wherever they are on their faith journey. We are part of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ. Our congregation size is 222, with average attendance of 60-80. You’ll find a list of commonly asked questions below. Please don’t hesitate to send us a message ([email protected]) or give us a call at (262) 786-4155 to let us know you’re coming!

What should I wear?

Brookfield Congregational Church has a ‘come as you are’ atmosphere. You will see some dressed up, some dressed casually. We have no expectations for attire.

Where do my kids go?

On any Sunday, ALL CHILDREN are welcome to join us in the sanctuary. Activity bags (small fabric bags) are available in the Narthex for our younger visitors, with coloring pages and crayons. Nursery Care is provided for children ages 0-4 on all Children’s Church Sundays. Remaining dates in 2023: 3/5, 3/12, /3/19, 4/2, 4/16, 4/23, 5/7, and 5/21.

We staff our Nursery with two individuals (background checks are required). When you come in, just follow the sign to the Nursery Care Room. You take a left after you enter the building and the room is located just past the double doors. The Nursery Attendant will check your child in and ask for your cell phone number, just in case the need arises to contact you during worship.

Our Children’s Church program is designed for all youth ages preK through 6th grade. Our curriculum hands-on and mission based. Throughout the school year we plan inter-generational events that support local charities. Please click on our current Children’s Church Event Calendar March through May 2023 for details. We offer Family Ministry Nights on one Sunday per month from 3:30-5pm. Snacks are provided!

Your children are welcome to join Children’s Church for any event or they can worship with you in the sanctuary (but they’ll probably enjoy our multi age-level ministries much more!). You can sign up to receive our weekly newsletter on the bottom of this page to receive the latest news on Children’s Church.

What is a Sunday service like?

Our Sunday services offer an inspiring worship and Biblical teaching that is relevant to everyday life. Take a look at past sermons to get a feel for the types of messages you will hear. Our music ministry blends traditional and contemporary music. Each service lasts about an hour. After Sunday Worship coffee and treats are offered for Fellowship time in the Gathering Room.

When is communion and who is invited?

Communion is served every first Sunday of the month. Everyone is invited to participate in communion. Children may participate upon discretion of their parents.

Do you have Special Accommodations?

We have hearing assisted devices available in the Narthex. Seat cushions are available as you enter the Sanctuary. A wheelchair accessible restroom is available at the far end of the hallway. Our Library and Nursery are equipped with sound systems for listening to the worship service.

Be sure to say ‘Hello!’

When you visit, don’t forget to say ‘Hi’ to our Pastor, Rev. Laura McLeod. We’d love to meet you and your family, and answer any questions you may have. We’re so glad you decided to visit Brookfield Congregational Church!
