We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! BCC is an “Open and Affirming” congregation, where we welcome visitors wherever they are on their faith journey. We are part of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ. Our congregation size is 280, with average attendance of 80-100. You’ll find a list of commonly asked questions below. Please don’t hesitate to send us a message or give us a call at (262) 786-4155 to let us know you’re coming!

What should I wear?

Brookfield Congregational Church has a ‘come as you are’ atmosphere. You will see some dressed up, some dressed casually. We have no expectations for attire.

Where do my kids go?

Children ages 0-4 are welcome in our Nursery. The Nursery is located towards the Gathering Room (take a left after you enter the building).  On the first Sunday of the month, all children will remain in church for worship and communion. The second Sunday children (ages 5-13) are invited to join “Stories and Service” after the children’s message. On this Sunday the children will hear a bible story and work on a service project for the community.  On thefourth Sunday, children (ages 5-13)  are invited to join the ‘one’ room children’s church.  The lessons are lectionary-based and there will be a leader and a Captain (high school helper).  The children will hear the bible story/message and do a craft or other activity having to do with the story they are working on. The children begin in church and after the children’s message they will walk to the classroom with the leader of that Sunday.  Of course you’re welcome to have your kids worship with you (but they’ll probably enjoy our multi age-level ministries much more!).

What is a Sunday service like?

Our Sunday services offer an inspiring worship and Biblical teaching that is relevant to everyday life. Take a look at past sermons to get a feel for the types of messages you will hear. Our music ministry blends traditional and contemporary music. Each service lasts about an hour. After Sunday Worship coffee and treats are offered for Fellowship time in the Gathering Room.

When is communion and who is invited?

Communion is served every first Sunday of the month. Everyone is invited to participate in communion. Children may participate upon discretion of their parents.

Do you have Special Accommodations?

We have hearing assisted devices available in the Narthex. Seat cushions are available as you enter the Sanctuary. A wheelchair accessible restroom is available at the far end of the hallway. Our Library and Nursery are equipped with sound systems for listening to the worship service.

Be sure to say ‘Hello!’

When you visit, don’t forget to say ‘Hi’ to our Pastor, Rev. Laura McLeod. We’d love to meet you and your family, and answer any questions you may have. We’re so glad you decided to visit Brookfield Congregational Church!
