Many of us are looking at the world around us not sure what to make of it. We hear the cries for justice, but aren’t sure how to respond or even where to begin. We have more questions than answers. Thankfully we have a resource right here in our church. Our own Rev. Laura is one of only nine people nationally trained and vetted in this work through the national UCC. She has been a resource to other congregations and organizations, so why not ours? We have asked Rev. Laura to lead a virtual class. Some of you were part of the ‘Sacred Conversations to End Racism’ class a couple of years ago, as well as the class that was cut short in the spring with Immanuel Baptist Church. This updated curriculum addresses the on-going questions and how our faith calls us to respond. Sessions will be held Thursday evenings via Zoom from 6:30-8pm beginning October 1 and running through November 19. Sign up will be limited and it is recommended that you plan to attend all sessions if possible. RSVP to Rev. Laura ([email protected]) to reserve your spot. We hope you will join us in getting to the heart of these issues as part of our mission work.
