You are welcome to share this invitation with friends as well. The more the merrier! I hope that you will be able to join me.
After a wonderful group gathered weekly in October and November to delve into racial justice work, sponsored by the Mission Team, it was decided that they wanted to continue. There were others who also wanted to be part of discussion, who were not able to join in. I am happy to announce that we will continue on.
Thursdays, January 21 through February 25 from 6:30-8pm we will gather via Zoom for a book discussion. This discussion will focus on “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nahesi Coates. I will also share some other resources for discussion from “What Does it Mean to be White: Developing White Racial Literacy” by Robin DiAngelo. The books work well together as one is a personal narrative and the other is a more academic approach. You can sign up for the class by clicking the button below. Participants should purchase “Between the World and Me” and read it for the study. It is available on Amazon. It is available in paperback, hardcover, Kindle or audio book. There is no need to purchase “What Does it Mean to be White”. I will share needed materials. If you need assistance acquiring the book, just let me know.
