Holy Week Worship at BCC
Holy Week (the week leading up to and including Easter) is a special time in the life of the church. As we approach the end of our journey through Lent we encounter one of the most sacred and meaningful times in the life of the Christian story and in the church. Here are opportunities for worship and study.
Sunday, March 25 – Palm Sunday Worship at 10am
We continue our Lenten series “Listen – Finding Your Purpose: Listening to Your Heart” as we recognize Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. It is Children’s Church Mission Sunday and we will dedicate Easter food baskets that the youth have prepared for donation to the Calvary Food Pantry. Palms will be distributed as well.
Tuesday, March 27 at 9:30am and Wednesday, March 28 at 7pm
Art and Faith Bible Study concludes with a focus on Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, “The Denial of Saint Peter”. Even if you have not attended previous studies you are welcome to delve into this appropriate image and text for Holy Week.
Thursday, March 29
Maundy Thursday Passover Seder at 6pm
This symbolic meal will be a tradition Seder. This meal, commemorating the Passover in the Jewish tradition, is also the meal Jesus shared as the last meal with his disciples. This meal is for all ages and rich with symbol and meaning. The choir will offer a special anthem at the close of the meal as well. Please note that the meal is symbolic and not a full meal and that advanced sign up is required so that we can plan enough food.
Sunday, April 1
Easter Sunday Worship at 10am
We sing with joy as the resurrection is celebrated in story and song! Come greet the joyous Easter morn by sharing in the good news and warm community. The celebrative service will end with a sing along Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah led by our Chancel Choir. All are welcome!
