We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! BCC is an “Open and Affirming” congregation, where we welcome visitors wherever they are on their faith journey. We are part of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ. Our congregation size is 350, with average attendance of 110-120. You’ll find a list of commonly asked questions below. Please don’t hesitate to send us a message or give us a call at (262) 786-4155 to let us know you’re coming!

What should I wear?

Brookfield Congregational Church has a ‘come as you are’ atmosphere. You will see some dressed up, some dressed casually. We have no expectations for attire.

Where do my kids go?

Children ages 0-3 are welcome in our Nursery. The Nursery is located towards the Gathering Room (take a left after you enter the building).  On the first Sunday of the month, children (ages 4-13) are invited to join “Bible Stories and Songs” after the children’s message, called “A Time for the Child in All of Us”. On the second and third Sundays, children ages 4 and up stay in worship until after the children’s message. Children participating in Children’s Church are then dismissed and go to their classrooms. Elementary age children will join the “Spirit Seekers” (Blast Room) and Middle School Students will be part of “Grapple” (Grow Room). The last Sunday of the month is ‘Mission Sunday’, a hands-on mission experience for all students (proven to be a big favorite!). The ‘Breakfast Club’ invites students grade 9 – 12. We meet every second Sunday of the month (Snacks are being served). Confirmation classes form during fall, please contact Rev. Laura McLeod for more information. Of course you’re welcome to have your kids worship with you (but they’ll probably enjoy our age-level ministries much more!).

What is a Sunday service like?

Our Sunday services offer an inspiring worship and Biblical teaching that is relevant to everyday life. Take a look at past sermons to get a feel for the types of messages you will hear. Our music ministry blends traditional and contemporary music, with our Praise Band playing on one Sunday each month. Each service lasts about an hour.

When is communion and who is invited?

Communion is served every first Sunday of the month. Everyone is invited to participate in communion. Children may participate upon discretion of their parents.

Do you have Special Accommodations?

We have hearing assisted devices available in the Narthex. Seat cushions are available as you enter the Sanctuary. A wheelchair accessible restroom is available at the far end of the hallway. Our Library and Nursery are equipped with sound systems for listening to the worship service.

Be sure to say ‘Hello!’

When you visit, don’t forget to say ‘Hi’ to our Pastor, Rev. Laura McLeod. We’d love to meet you and your family, and answer any questions you may have. We’re so glad you decided to visit Brookfield Congregational Church!
