The Florentine Opera begins its 83rd Season with the world-premiere production of Sister Carrie, October 7th & 8th, on the stage of Uihlein Hall in the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. This original production portrays a small town girl’s path to fame in the early 1900’s as America becomes industrialized and large segments of the rural populace flooded into an urban sea of humanity.  This new opera is made possible through support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the support of BCC member, Lloyd Gerlach in memory of Mary Ann Gerlach.
