Filling backpacks with MRM - The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is supporting at-risk children as they head back to school with their Back-To-School Supply drive. You can help by donating the following items: Folders, Notebooks, Crayola Markers & Crayons and USED or NEW backpacks. Find collection bins in the Gathering Room through August 21st.

Habitat for Humanity build update: We have spaces available for three consecutive Saturdays: July 23, 30 and August 6. If you would like to sign up just contact Karen Ward. You can register with Milwaukee Habitat:  sign up online. Please contact Karen Ward (wardshouse@sbcglobal.net) with any questions you might have. The site has a list of things to bring along. Some additional suggestions are:
  • Wear long pants preferably jeans-they may be hotter, but they are much tougher than skin. Some choose to wear shorts.
  • Bandana-hard hats are provided, but the bandana helps if it is hot to keep sweat from the eyes.
  • Knee pads-not necessary but very nice for kneeling and nailing.
  • Safety glasses- provided by Habitat, but you may have some that fit you well.
  • Tool belt-if you like.
Don't be confused by the 9-3 time listed on the website as the agenda shows activities begin at 8:00 give or take a little. If you can't work the whole day, you are welcome to drive separately and leave when you need to. We will meet at 7:30 AM in the Church Parking lot. Lunch and water are provided.
Note to Parents: Youth at least 16 but under 18 can definitely be a HUGE help in the hammering, lifting, measuring! For liability reasons they may not use power tools. There is a lot of nail pounding during the framing. When the dry wall starts in September there will be measuring, cutting, trimming and lifting of drywall. It is a great opportunity to see how a house is built. ENCOURAGE your kids or grand kids to volunteer for a Saturday in July or September.
Looking forward to a fun time of building next Saturday!

Save the date! A farewell celebration in honor of Rev. Kathleen Rinear will be held on July 31st immediately after worship. Lunch will be provided. Watch for an email in your inbox from SignUp Genius to sign up. You will also be able to sign up on the bulletin in the Narthex.
